Data privacy protection

The protection of your privacy while you use the Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze (SEBN) career website is a high priority for us. Therefore, please note the following information:

Provided that the possibility of entering personal or business details (i.e. e-mail addresses, names, postal addresses) exists within our Internet offer (so-called personalized services), the disclosure of such data on the part of the user is done on an expressly voluntary basis.

The use of all services offered is – inasmuch as this is technically possible and feasible – also permitted without entering such data and/or anonymously entering data or by using an alias.

All personal data gathered during the visit of our websites will only be processed and used for the purpose of handling your requests.

As a matter of principle, your data will not be forwarded to third parties. A transfer of information to the companies of the Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze Group or other third parties mentioned in the declaration of consent will only take place with your approval and only in as far as the recipients have committed themselves towards us to observing the valid data protection regulations.

Within the frameworks of processing your request and your use of our services, we reserve the right to commission service providers. These service providers have been contractually committed by us to observe the legal provisions on data protection and are not deemed third parties in data protection terms.

SEBN operates in various countries all around the world, including Japan, China, Morocco, Tunisia, Mexico, Romania, Ukraine and in multiple European countries. As SEBN is part of a global organisation, we may from time to time transfer personal information to a SEBN company located in another country, including in countries outside of the European Economic Area. These countries may not have the same data protection legislation than your own country.

SEBN  will keep the personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, unless it is required by law, or pursuant to an order issued by the regulator or court order, to keep the personal information for a longer period.

Of course, you have a right to know at any time what personal data of yours we are saving. In such cases, please contact our data protection officer (see below).

You have the right to partially or completely withdraw your permission to use your data at any time with immediate effect. In such a case, we shall delete the relevant data, provided that there are no legal grounds prohibiting us from doing so, especially with regard to data for invoicing and accounting purposes.
