WORKING HAND-IN-HAND
TO ACHIEVE THE PERFECT RESULTS

It is quiet and smells like rubber or oil. And, for a production hall, there are an amazing number of people at work. At cutting stations, testing benches or welding machines. On the average, 2,500 employees work at our various plants – more than many other companies have all together.

PRODUCTION

It is quiet and smells like rubber or oil. And, for a production hall, there are an amazing number of people at work. At cutting stations, testing benches or welding machines. On the average, 2,500 employees work at our various plants – more than many other companies have all together. Our production is anything but typical for the automobile industry.
The atypical nature of our business, that which makes it so special, can also be seen when looking over the shoulders of our employees. Tailor-made wire harnesses are produced here by hand with meticulous precision to fully meet the demands of our customers – a challenging task, since these have to meet the same rigid criteria as those manufactured by machines, namely speed of production and maximum efficiency. When, after ten hours, the harness has been customised by 180 hands, which have tested it thoroughly and meticulously so that it is absolutely flawless – only then is it delivered to our customer. Only then are we satisfied ourselves.

Our factory workers say that it is the “passion for wire harnesses that unites us”. Since “the product is always our top priority”. Cultural barriers do not exist when production employees from nine countries and 23 locations come together at one table and exchange ideas about which standards could make our work even more efficient, how to improve welding machines or which work clothing ensures maximum operational safety.

Some say that wire harnesses literally envelope those who work with them. This leads to a close personal relationship to the product and, with this, to high demands on the part of employees with regard to their own performance – something which cannot be achieved with machines.
